The most important developments and changes of the Talaria Sting Pro

Improved IPM motor

This is an IPM (Interior Permanent Magnet) motor, with larger and better magnets than ever before and a better cooling system. This means better efficiency, better heat dissipation, and most importantly, much greater reliability. This motor is capable of higher RPM than older motors and delivers a more robust power curve. It is 95% efficient, making it the most efficient Talaria motor ever!

Larger battery capacity

The quality battery is manufactured by the internationally recognized Greenway.

However, for the first time Talaria has increased the battery system voltage from 60 V to 72 V. This enables higher torque, higher RPM, and more temperature-controlled motor operation. The battery is 40Ah / 72V, i.e. 2880 Watt-hours in capacity, and is made with Samsung 50S 21700 (5000 mAh) cells. Also new is the MX5 fully removable battery cover, which significantly makes it easier to move the battery.

Of course, the battery now also includes a 15-amp fast charger.

Controller

The 13.5 kW peak power compared to the TL4000’s 8.5 kW peak power is a big leap, and it has been tuned for smooth, predictable power delivery.

Improved braking system

Talaria reviewed the previously used braking system and incorporated several improvements for reliable performance and safety. The size of both the front and rear calipers, as well as the brake pads, has been increased, and the Sting Pro now has 220 x 3.0 mm brake discs. That is, the brake pads have been increased to almost twice the size of the TL4000 pads, and they are made from a metal compound developed by Talaria specifically for this electric off-road motorcycle. This makes an incredible difference in braking force, smooth brake operation, brake lifespan, and braking reliability. Overall, it provides roughly 20% greater braking power and heat dissipation.

Adjustable regenerative braking system

Talaria’s latest feature, which is installed exclusively in the Sting Pro, is adjustable regenerative braking. For the first time in the Talaria product range, there is also a secondary, finger-operated variable regen button on the handlebar. It works similarly to a brake lever and smoothly regulates the desired level of regeneration. The harder we press it, the more the regenerative braking is applied, without issues related to brake overheating, while increasing efficiency and range, and preserving the mechanical braking system. Variable regenerative braking was previously only available on high-end custom bikes equipped with aftermarket controllers, but now it is standard equipment on the Sting Pro.

Suspension and drivetrain

The Sting Pro received front and rear suspension specifically designed for this model. The bike’s thicker 428 chain is twice as strong as the Sting’s chain, requiring greater reliability and less maintenance, with reinforced primary and secondary sprockets. An extra chain guide for the chain is also included.

Three riding modes

In addition to the usual ECO and SPORT modes, HYPER has also appeared.

Additional features

• Color TFT display: Compared to earlier versions it is smaller, but redesigned, with better resolution and now a color display that also indicates riding modes with different colors.
• CNC MX-style kickstand: The anodized black kickstand adds durability and style to the bike.
• More comfortable seat: The new, thicker and more comfortable seat provides maximum comfort even on longer trips.
• New design: The TL5500 was born in the Year of the Dragon, so the design reflects this compared to the previous single-color or gold-foiled decals.
